Why should I get a food sensitivity test? You could be eating a clean diet and you wonder why you are feeling groggy or can’t think clearly, maybe you’re eating a food that doesn’t necessarily agree with your body. This is where a sensitivity test is critical.
Food sensitivities vary from food allergies, depending on the antibody that we are testing for. An allergy is a response from IgE antibodies, whereas sensitivities are a response by the IgG antibodies.
Food sensitivity testing is quite easy, and even children can undergo this simple procedure: all it requires is a prick of the finger to draw a drop of blood. At Performance Health, we typically receive results from the lab in about a week after your visit. We will go over the results and then formulate a plan to help you stay away from the foods that do not agree with you!
